The following page discusses the Heathkit MP-10, 175 watt, inverter. I
received this unit sometime in the 1960's as a kit and treasured it for many
years. In 2008 the off/on/start switch failed and after an attempt to
repair the switch by fabricating a needed plastic pin I gave up. Not
wanting to trash the unit, I embarked on a one year hunt that ended when an
exact replacement was found. Power transistor information.
The switch is a starter switch for an automotive application and is available from
Dan's Performance Parts Inc.
(760-751-0718), PO Box 2527, Valley Center, CA 92082. The switch
is an OFF-ON-MOM, 12 volt, 20 amp with a rubber seal covering the toggle,
model 04-13-211ST, with screw terminals. Better than the original and
a perfect fit.

The above unit is not mine, below is.

Heathkit, MP-10
(After switch change-out)

I have a short pigtail ending in an
Anderson PowerPole. Next project - replace the 115 volt receptacles as they have become very
loose.

This is a scan of the packaging for the switch.
